Help our local Foodbank
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
The Whitchurch Foodbank is a registered charity that was initially founded by Churches Together in Whitchurch working towards stopping hunger in our local area. It is funded by local trusts and the generosity of folk in Whitchurch and surrounding locations.
Every day people in the UK go hungry for many reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill. This is hard in any circumstance but is exacerbated when on a low income. When facing a crisis a provision of 3 days food can make all the difference. Through the support Foodbanks are able to provide, this helps reduce crime and housing loss, family breakdown, metal health problems and so much more.
The Foodbank is 'more than just food' it is a place of safety where clients can discuss their worries and concerns in a loving non-threatening environment and be signposted to organisations geared to meeting their specific needs.
