OUR LIFE TOGETHER IS FOCUSED AROUND TWO THINGS:
FIRSTLY...
Our Sunday Meetings: We meet Sunday's at 10.30am where we worship together, hear stories of what God is doing and look at how the Bible has relevance for today. There is also a creche and special activities for the children and young people.
SECONDLY...
Our Midweek Group Life: It's hard to get to know people in a crowd, so each week smaller groups of people meet in homes around the town, forming close friendships and enjoying hanging out together. Our groups include:
- Connect Groups - midweek homegroups, daytime and evening.
- Connect4Youth - a connect group specially for young people
- Alpha - for those looking to learn more about the Christian faith
- Freedom In Christ - a course that reveals the truth of who we are in Christ and the freedom we can experience.
We also have a regular women's group and a men's group (which usually includes food!)
Because we believe the church should impact the wider community, we also are part of the Whitchurch Foodbank which aims to supply emergency food for those hit by redundancy, illness, benefit delay, domestic violence, debt, family breakdown.
Also...
We also have a number of our own community support projects:
- Warm Welcome Space - Wednesdays 1pm -3pm April to November, 1pm - 4pm December to March. A warm welcoming place to meet with friends over a free cuppa. Read the paper, do a jigsaw, play cards or just sit and rest.
- Connect For You - meets Fridays 10.00 - 11.30am. This is a group for those who have additional needs; giving support and a place where ‘You can feel Connected’.
- Faith Based Drop In - on Mondays 1 - 3pm. Giving help and support to those who struggle with destrctive habits.
- Buzzy Beas - for parents (grandparents/carers) and toddlers on Wednseday mornings 9.15am -10.45am.
- BEA Club - after school club on Tuesday 4.45 - 5.45pm.
- Silver Diners - once a month on the 2nd Thursday at 12.30pm, lunch for the over 60's (ish!)
And from time to time:
- Into The Word - designed to equip christians to use the Bible effectively in all areas of life
- The Marriage Course
- The Parenting Course
- CAP Money Course - A 3-week short course to learn how to handle your money better by knowing how to budget, spend and save.
Beacon is a family and a place to call home. It's a place to get help, healing, and hope: a place to find friendship and find your calling. Whether you're in Whitchurch or one of the outlying villages or towns, an atheist or lifetime follower of Christ, you are welcome here.
