Visiting for the first time?

Visiting a church for the first time can be daunting, but having an idea of what to expect can help you relax.
Our Sunday Service starts at 10.30am at the Watergate Centre, Whitchurch.

What normally happens?

After a warm welcome, we normally have a time of worship with singing for about half an hour. The children then go to their groups and the adults enjoy a relevant talk from the Bible. The service is normally finished by 11:45am, followed by tea, coffee and biscuits. At all times we want visitors to feel relaxed and to participate as they feel comfortable.

Can I make a contact before I come?

It can be difficult meeting people for the first time and not knowing anyone. If you would find it helpful you can contact us and let us know you are coming and we will get in touch so that you know at least one person when you arrive.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code and most people come dressed in casual or smart-casual clothes. Just come as you are – in keeping with the weather.

What is the music like?

Our worship is contemporary, relaxed and upbeat, singing both new and traditional songs.

What is there for children?

We encourage children to join in with the worship and we run various groups for different ages during the adult’s talk time. Your child/children can join these groups (which are far more fun) or stay with mum and dad. Have a look here to find out about our children & youth groups.

Is there parking?

The is disabled parking at the rear of the building with other car parks not far away. This page will help you to find the car park.

Can someone pray for me when I visit?

We believe that God not only wants us to know about him, but also experience him in our everyday lives. This is why we'd love to pray for you and/or with you if you would like us to.

What about money?

As a visitor you will not be expected to give any money, however if you would like to give to support the vision of the Church, your contribution is always appreciated. There is a giving box at the back for people to place their money into. Most regular people give by standing order and gift aid which is why we don't have a collection.

Our finances are managed by a Treasurer, a finance team and Church Trustees and our accounts are audited by external accountants and comply with Charity Commission regulation.

Communion

Once each month (usually 1st Sunday) we have Communion, where we remember and thank God for Christ’s sacrifice of Himself for us. We welcome everyone who knows and loves the Lord Jesus to take part in this with us.
